Jake – The Dirt Bike Dad
I am a 30 something husband, father of two, engineer and dirt bike fanatic. I love all things off road and have been riding off and on since I was around 12.
I started this site after a late-night conversation with my wife Melissa and in a state of delirium after a long day of dealing with our two boys. I, of course with dirt biking on my mind, started to talk about it and Melissa sighed as usual, indicating her boredom with the conversation and said, “Honey, it’s not that I don’t like hearing you talk about dirt biking things but I think you need a bigger audience.”
With that I started, with the help of my wife of course, this blog to discuss all things dirt biking. We’ll delve into learning to ride, parts, maintenance, bike types and technology and maybe even other things as well. My goal is for this to be a place to ask questions and be a place to learn and for me to learn from as well. I hope you enjoy the site and feel free to drop us a message anytime! Mom, beautiful wife, crafter, and social media manager / editor to thedirtbikedad.com. Although she may not ride dirt bikes I am willing to bet she could complete a top end replacement and not forget to check ring end gap and measure the X dimension properly. She has listened to more dirt bike talk than anyone can fathom and knows quite a bit about off road riding and is the main reason this site was created. The boys and I are grateful to have her around!
Oliver & Cooper – The Dirt Bike Kids
These boys are animals! Oliver is learning to ride dirt bikes and loves to practice on his balance and pedal bikes and Cooper is also learning all the proper Strider bike techniques! It is so fulfilling watching these little guys be so interested in bikes at such a young age!
